Two of the most important gifts you can give your children are roots and wings. Roots, so they will grow up to be responsible, loving adults, proud of where they came from, and know that they always have a place to call home. Wings, so they won’t be afraid to go out into the world and make their own paths. I tried really hard to give these to my children, just as my father gave them to me. I hope I succeeded. I know I’m incredibly proud of both of them!

Now I’m helping to raise (and homeschool) one of my grandsons, while loving ALL the grands. It’s a different journey, but one that is incredible. When you first hold your children in your arms it’s amazing; but when you hold your grandchild, the child of your child…the feeling is indescribable. When you get there, you’ll understand. I hope I’m able to help give all my grandchildren the same gifts…roots and wings!
